June ’26 Wrap-Up

I finally got back into reading this month after almost a year of not reading. I didn’t review all the books on this list, but I did review several of them. Here’s what I read in June 2026: So there it is – all 13 books I read during the month of June 2026! Clown in a Cornfield, Together We Rot, We Did Nothing Wrong, 1 Peter, 52-Week Prayer Practice for Women, The Courage to Change, Sweet Nightmare, and The Joy of an Uncluttered Life were NetGalley reads. Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives and Clown in a Cornfield 3: The Church of Frendo were just to finish the released books in the series. ‘Salem’s Lot, Hell House, and The Exorcist were part of my Summerween/Scariest Books Ever Written list. What did you read this month?

Sweet Nightmare by Tracy Wolff

Sweet Nightmare by Tracy Wolff

So I was approved for Sweet Nightmare back in 2024, but I didn’t get around to reading it until now. Part of this was because I’d tried out the Crave series and it just wasn’t for me. Unfortunately, I’d tried the Crave series after I’d been approved for Sweet Nightmare, so I decided not to bother reading it, figuring Tracy Wolff wasn’t the author for me. Well, I was wrong. As with many of the books I’ve had issues getting into on NetGalley that have already been released, I found that listening to the audiobook helped me immensely. I really liked the main narrator – Suzy Jackson, and I was impressed with Andrew B. Wehrlen as well, although we didn’t get to hear him nearly as much as we did Ms. Jackson. Both narrators did their jobs well and did not detract from the story at all. Characters The characters […]

Interview: Hunterland by Dana Claire

Interview: Hunterland by Dana ..

Today we have a special treat – an interview with Dana Claire, author of Hunterland! I asked some “non-traditional” questions to be a bit unique, and I love her answers! Here’s my interview with Dana Claire… Do you plan to read reviews of “Hunterland” and if you do, how will you respond to negativereviews? I love reading reviews. I think it’s a great way to connect to your readers. Good or bad, I genuinelyam just grateful for a person wanting to pick up my work and curl up with it to read. Writing issubjective so negative reviews never bother me. Most of the time, I learn from them just like anyonewould learn from feedback. The readers who review my work have always been so kind to me thatall I can say is thank you to them all. What was your favorite book as a child and do you think it influenced […]

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

Ninth House was one of my most anticipated releases for October. I like Leigh Bardugo’s writing style. And I admit, I was curious to see if she can actually write adult fiction as well as she writes Young Adult fiction. The answer to that question is, she does. I picked up Ninth House for the Barnes & Noble Book Club. It was November’s book of the month to read. It took me much longer to read the book because the episcleritis in my right eye made it painful to read – you never realize how much your eyes move until you try to read with an eye that hurts if it moves. In all honesty, I think that’s the only real reason it took so long to read this book. As with most of Leigh Bardugo’s books, it does have a slightly slow, slightly confusing start. Where the prologue starts, […]

Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

Anna Dressed in Blood by Kenda..

I’d had this book on my radar for a while, but couldn’t seem to find a copy of it. Then I happened to be at the library in the YA section the other day, and lo and behold, it was in a display of Halloween-worthy books. So I snagged it up. I started it the night I got it and finished it a couple of days later because I only had time to read late at night. This is the kind of ghost story that will keep you interested. Kendare Blake has woven a tale that is unlike any other ghost story. First, you have Cas. He’s a ghost-hunter. Sort of. He doesn’t hunt ghosts like you see on TV. He isn’t just trying to figure out if a place is haunted. He’s trying to remove the ghosts. But only certain ghosts. Only those that are dangerous. Ghosts that are […]
