Today I’m pleased to bring you an interview with AJ Calvin, author of Exile. This interview is part of my stop on the blog tour organized by Escapist Book Co. Thank you for allowing me to participate, and thank you to AJ Calvin for answering my questions. Do you read reviews of your books? If so, how do you handle bad or good reviews? I do read reviews of my books because it’s hard for me to not know what people think about my work, good or bad. I love getting feedback, even if it’s sometimes painful. Unless I’m tagged by the reviewer in some way, I do not interact with them. Books, like any art form, are subjective and not everyone is going to like the end result. I feel reviewers are free to share their opinions, and commenting (or even liking) a review that someone has left without telling […]

Today I’m pleased to bring you an interview with M.T. Fontaine, author of Carved Amidst the Shadows. This interview is part of my stop on the blog tour organized by Escapist Book Co. Thank you for allowing me to participate, and thank you to M.T. Fontaine for answering my questions. Do you read reviews of your books? If so, how do you handle bad or good reviews? Yes, I can’t help myself. I read every single review despite knowing I shouldn’t. A critique always hits home, whether it’s good or bad. Of course, the good or great ones will give me a mental boost and add to my productivity over the days that follow. A bad one has the opposite effect. What is the best way you’ve found to market your books? The best way I’ve found is to incorporate the epic fantasy bookish community and get to know reviewers and […]

Today I’m proud to bring you an interview with Connor Jackson, author of The Bindings of Woe. This interview is part of my stop on the blog tour organized by Escapist Book Co. Thank you for allowing me to participate, and thank you to Joseph John Lee for answering my questions. Do you read reviews of your books? If so, how do you handle bad or good reviews? I do read reviews whenever I can. It’s one of the best parts of being an author, finally getting to see what people think about your book that you’ve worked for so long on. With all kinds of reviews I just try to read without getting too excited or bummed out and see what people do and don’t like so I can think about what I want to do with that information. Criticism is just as important as praise in my opinion, as […]

I was approved for For the Wolf on NetGalley before the book even came out. But however many times I tried to read it, I just couldn’t do it. So I told NetGalley I couldn’t finish it and wouldn’t be giving feedback. Then I bought it on Kindle, along with For the Throne, thinking maybe if I had the whole duology, I’d read it. It took me a year to actually read For the Wolf, but when I did, I read it in 2 or 3 days. Holy cow, I don’t know why it took me so long to actually get into this book and read it. I love Red, Neve, Arick, Raffe, Lyra, Fife, and Eammon. I absolutely can’t stand Kiri. I seriously wanted to throttle her the entire book. As for Neve and Arick, they were misguided in their actions but they did what they thought was right. […]

Today I’m proud to bring you an interview with Joseph John Lee, author of The Bleeding Stone. This interview is part of my stop on the blog tour organized by Escapist Book Co. Thank you for allowing me to participate, and thank you to Joseph John Lee for answering my questions. Interview Do you read reviews of your books? If so, how do you handle bad or good reviews? I do, both good and bad reviews. For one, I don’t get many reviews just yet as it is, so I am always appreciative of those who will leave even a couple sentences, regardless of their feelings on the book – they took the time to read it, so I always like to give it right back and read what they had to say. I think with more negative reviews particularly, they may still offer something constructive for me to think […]
