For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten

I was approved for For the Wolf on NetGalley before the book even came out. But however many times I tried to read it, I just couldn’t do it. So I told NetGalley I couldn’t finish it and wouldn’t be giving feedback. Then I bought it on Kindle, along with For the Throne, thinking maybe if I had the whole duology, I’d read it. It took me a year to actually read For the Wolf, but when I did, I read it in 2 or 3 days. Holy cow, I don’t know why it took me so long to actually get into this book and read it. I love Red, Neve, Arick, Raffe, Lyra, Fife, and Eammon. I absolutely can’t stand Kiri. I seriously wanted to throttle her the entire book. It took me a bit to read this one, but I finally got it finished. This marks the 3rd of 6 books I’d determined to finish before starting anything else, so I’m halfway finished with my September TBR. Now, on to the review. I’d heard about The Fetch Phillips Archives from Witty and Sarcastic Book Club‘s review of the 3rd book in the trilogy. It sounded like something I’d like, so I found all three books through the Libby app and checked them out. While it did take me a bit to read it, I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to say, if you’re looking for a fantasy book with suspense, intrigue, death, and betrayal, you’d do well to pick up Dragons of Winter Night by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman. First things first – be aware that when you start Dragons of Winter Night, you’ll be starting about a month after the ending of Dragons of Autumn Twilight, and in kind of an awkward spot as you’ll have little idea of what’s going on because the companions have gone on an adventure that we don’t get to read about. There’s a lot of suspense and intrigue in this middle book in the series. We meet a new character who becomes one of the companions of sorts, but there are reasons not to trust this new character.
